I can't answer your question, but you'll find that there is a wealth of information here. Lot's of really informed people. However, you'll find them more inclined to offer their assistance if you'll use a little more "tact" and try not to sound quite so "abrasive". Good luck.

Welcome, There are several floor plans and possibly several drivetrain options on the Solera. Listing a Year, Make, Model, Engine, will help

Also, lots of people just browse all recent discussions, they dont go to a specific forum, so they might miss the fact they are on the Solera board.

I get same but it really depends on conditions. Wind really decreases it and if you speed or stop and go driving it goes down.

To the OP...ironic you'd include a question about etiquette when your first reply to someone trying to be helpful is that they should have noticed the subforum they are in. Bad form sir, bad form.

Because I could just as easily say to you, have you not noticed the Search button at the top of the page?

It was my fault. I was reading the "unread" and didn't check what sub forum I clicked into on my phone. And I was half asleep.

You r correct I should have been more informative I just assumed too much. sorry I do not own a solera yet but would be thinking about new, that is why I asked about talking about pricing, but then again I should have said new. Thanks for the advice I really appreciate the help.

I have the 24R - expect an average of 14. I had as low as 12.5 and as high as 17, it all depends on fuel itself, wind and speed, how much weight, a/c running etc....
If you tow something - I don't know. Once I was towing a U-Haul trailer 1200 miles from Naples FL to Warrensburg Mo fully loaded (total about 3000lbs) and hardly noticed a difference.

Solera 24r - to my knowledge there is no gasser.....one of the reasons I decided on the solera. That diesel engine is so nice - powerful and quiet plus a lot more legroom then in all those Ford V 10's .......
With a gas engine do not expect to get any better then 9mpg...my own experience, but fuel is cheaper!

My 24MS (No longer offered) started out getting 12-12.5 mpg. There is a break-in period. When I traded I had 7400 on the clock and was getting 15.5-15.8 mpg. I'm a conservative driver, however - if you like to "lead the pack" you'll get less. If towing, I'd subtract 1-1.5 mpg from these figures towing a moderate size car (I towed a Mazda3). As to price, you can get a good feel for pricing by checking out what on-line retailers are quoting, and that's usually not their BEST price. I'd shoot for no less than 30% off MSRP. And make sure it's a manufacturers' sticker, rather than one the dealer generates. Taxes and transport are additional and dealers don't discount those items. Be prepared to walk, make sure they have your number - guarantee they'll call you back.

Take a look at RVDirect - Lowest prices on Jayco and Forest River RVs. . Pick your motor home with options and see MSRP. Submit your choices and get a quote via email. You will be surprised at the difference and how simple.
