New Pictures on Murphy Bed Platform

We thought we would like to have our own photos hanging in our Solera, so we had a local frame shop replace the original pictures with new matting and our photos. We are happy with out they turned out, and love that we were able to personalize the décor with photos we took of places we have visited.

Happy New Year to all!

Nice touch with replacing the carbon copy photos with your own memories.

How did you get the pictures off of the bed frame?

My husband used fishing line that he pulled down between the picture frames and the bed platform. They came off the platform easily - a lot easier than we anticipated they might! When putting them back up, we used Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape that holds up to 20 lbs. The pictures don't weigh anywhere close to that, but given we store our Solera in non-climate controlled storage when not using it, we wanted to be sure we were using tape that would hold in both high and low temperatures.

On a side note, the framer used the original frames and the clear plastic, so the only new materials she provided were the mats and the labor. I printed the photos, so the total cost was right around $70, including the Scotch mounting tape.

Uh-oh. Maybe they fell off in transit. Here's what ours looked like.

Was the pictures STD. Sould the unit have come with it? Also I notice that the bed platform in the attachment looks perfectly vertical, mine has a little bit of lean forward. Is this a flaw. My unit has been in the shop since Dec 2. It was a real problem finding service since it looks like Forest River dealers are not obligated to do warranty work
and will refuse to do it if you did not buy it from them. The people in this area did not offer our discontinued 24M and the dealer I bought it from is 350 miles away. Guess I went off subject but sometmes I can ramble.

I'm sorry for causing confusion about the pictures. I was joking about them falling off in transit. Our Solera is a 2012 and the pictures came with it, but I don't know if they were standard on models from other years. Brian Clemens could probably answer that question.
Our bed platform leans forward ever so slightly but not even enough that we can actually see that.
Sorry your unit has been in the shop so long.

Our 2013 Solera came with them (BClemens life work!). SWMBO couldn't get them off fast enough, replaced them with some really nice bird prints.

Getting them off was a hoot. Heated behind one edge with hair dryer, then put a trim removal tool bend the edge and pried it loose - once it starts it comes off easily. We reapplied with 3M double-sided tape.

The original ones did not have pictures methinks...I thought it looked plain so I asked for purchasing to find some.

In hindsight, one of those hinged frames would be cool. The ones where you display your kids artwork and can change them at will.

Not necessarily. I think we stopped putting them when our initial supply ran out.

Not to worry. Those Pictures (bclemens life's work) were pathetic! And the frames were too large, and they were hideous black frames. Should be easy to find some nice frames that match the decor at a flea market, and put some nice prints behind them. Tape them up with double-sided 3M tape and you'll be good to go! Just make sure they're somewhat centered over the chairs so that when the bed comes down they won't get crushed!

This is just the info I need to do the pictures. I wondered about the placement.

Thanks
