No light for refer being on gas
Just took delivery of our new 2015 Solera 24W. We love it and how it rides, sounds, looks and smells. But we noticed that when the refer is on using the gas only, not Auto, there is no light or indication that the refer is even on. I find that odd. Seems there ought to be a light so we know that its on. It was on all last night and today, on gas, but I didn't notice it until later today. Using LP all that time with no indication. Anyone else have this happening or have a fix for it. Is it a manufacturer problem or a design flaw. Thanks and we love this forum. Nice to be welcome in a community of fellow Solera owners.

My fridge is the same way. I just haven't dug into a mod to add an indication light. I keep a thermometer inside to keep tabs. If you search on this forum, you'll find a post for really nice built digital display.

Yeah, you can add a digital temp display --that's on my someday list fer sure.
Also the interior light is on when you open the door but that just shows it's ON not
necessarily that it's working.
It will show a "check" light if it's on LP and fails to light for some reason.
I can hear mine light and then I know it's working on gas. The burner makes a faint
fluttering sound if you listen outside carefully.

We just run ours in (Auto) light is On both (Gas/Elec) if there is a Failure of either the (Check) light comes On!  Youroo!!

That's what's nice about the AcuRite Digital Refrigerator Thermometer and Freezer Thermometer with Temperature Alerts. It will alert you if the frig goes off and the temperature starts rising.

Haaa Haaa, you making fun of us with hearing problems???? I can't hear mine at all...too many years of working on Army helicopters then gas turbines..

Sounds to me like the light is burned out. I discovered mine burned out because it was always on.....I had to add a shim to the striker spot on the door so it closed the sensor arm sooner. I just might BE simply a burned out bulb.

After I press 'on', I listen for a light click. It takes about 10 seconds.
I always leave it on 'auto'.

I use this and really like it. My TT is next to the garage so when I start the fridge the day before leaving, I bring the display inside and it allows me to check to see everything is working from inside,

I don't think it's a burned out bulb. Our Apex is the same way, as was our previous Roxkwood.

I use "GAS ONLY" when I stay at campgrounds with poor voltage.
It goes without saying the water heater is on propane as well.

I'm with youroo - run it on auto. That's what we did the whole time we had our old RV. The new one is a residential fridge, so no gas. The indicator light on the gas/elec also serves as a fault code indicator if something goes wrong.

If we agree that the fridge's electronics run off 12v DC, then it's just the heating element that needs 110V AC. Does it really make a big diff if the fridge's heating element is only getting 108V AC?
Same argument for the water heater too.
Thoughts?

Reducing the power draw from the campground pedestal leaves more available power for the A/C unit. One way to do that is to switch the water heater and refrigerator to LP.
