Solera 24R "newbie"

Slow_movin,

Good to hear that you thought enough of the Solera to order a new one!
That speaks volumes about them.

My wife and I have had our 2015 Solera 24R for one short month, and love it. I've got several mods planned and am working through them.

One groaner... was moving the TV in the cab over up up 3/4 of an inch or so. I did that last night in about an hour. It was rubbing on the matress. Jeesh, why didn't the factory catch that one? Bet they were just trying to get them shipped to the customer fast and missed it. Got it done. No worries.

For the mods: I have already ordered 2 maxxaire vent covers and a maxxaire model 7000 Maxxfan Deluxe with remote control. I will remove the noisy fan from the bathroom and replace it with the Fantastic Fan in the living room...then will put maxx air vent covers over the vent in the bedroom and the fan in the bathroom Where the living room van was I will place the Model 7000 Maxxfan. Also will put an awning over the window in the living room to help keep the sun out in the late afternoon and also to protect the leather couch.
Have ordered the Oxygenic shower head and Danco cutoff valve.
Have ordered insect screens for the vents in the water heater, vents in the refrigerator and vents for the furnace.
For those of you who have run into the rear slide (be honest), I have ordered half dozen plastic cones to place on the ground around the rear slide. Got this idea from the Solera dealer. Apparently I'm not the first...
I'm sure there will be additional stuff later on...

Not really how it went down. They have all been mounted the exact same way, but we always used a 26" TV. Solera was the only model that got a 26" TV so I asked if we could just sub in the 32" that we use on everything else (It goes back to the whole...it fits...nope, I see daylight. It can be bigger).

So they continued to mount the arm in the same spot...but the 32" TV does not give us much room for that arm to settle. So straight install it looks fine...but as it travels the arm settles a bit and we didn't have much room to begin with. I have them cheating to the high side now and not splitting the gap top/bottom.

Are you saying you can mount a 32" where the 26" is? If so is it a certain brand. I have 2 Sony and 1 Visio and by my measurements all three won't clear cabinet. thanks

We're using Jensen. But we may be running a longer swing arm as well. I just know that is what we're running now.

I've bought some of the swim noodles, cut them lengthwise and put them on the edge of the slide, they stand out nice and if you still hit one, it's not so bad

All the mods installed except the vent covers and Maxxair fan. I also ordered and installed a 90degree "clear" (kind of clear but not) elbow and put it on the black/grey tanks dump outlet. Probably will leave it there with a cap on the bottom so it doesn't leak...
Two problems thus far: two of storage area doors have water leaks and the caps on the tops of the rear slide are not secured but they are not likely to fall unless knocked off. Not a biggie

We ordered our 24R with the swing arm factory installed but without the TV. The factory also ran the component audio/video from the back of the dash unit to the swing arm. I installed a 32" Samsung SMART TV which fit with the help of a TV wall mount that I picked up at Target. You can see the TV very well from the rear bed. I also had the dealer mount a 22" Visio SMART TV in the rear bedroom when I picked up the unit. Works very well. I'll post some pics if anyone's interested.

Thanks for the pics!
Do you have audio through the magnadyne speaker system?
Our tv is a Toshiba 24" ; no audio out...... Frustrating, seem that the audio jacks are there.... Added a swing-out extension

Ours is a Jensen system. I think FR switched to Jensen on the 2015. Not sure if our TV has any Audio outs. The factory only ran one set of component outs.

As it turns out, only a few TV's have the RCA type audio-out jacks! ( this is how my 2012r is wired)

If shopping for a new TV, be sure to check.
Note: there are HDMI to RCA converter cables or adaptor boxes.
