Normal Slide Operation

We looked at many RV's with slides. They seemed to all slide directly in. We looked at a 2014 Solera and the side slide would tip up as if the bottom was moving in first, then the top would catch up when it was about to close. It seemed odd. Is this normal operation?

This is normal as the bottom is moving up over the lip of the floor as it is coming in, so the bottom appears to be moving in out of line with the top but isn't really.

This is great news as we bought it. Picking it up tomorrow. Just wanted to be sure as it seemed so different from others. Thank you both for the quick replies!

Depends on the slide. A "Flush Floor Slide" will always do that. That slide will in fact tip up to go up and over the floor...as it comes out, it drops down so that it is basically flush with the main floor. The other slides you speak of will have a step up...so it always stays the same level above the floor.
