NOX Sensor

Our 2011 Solera had the little amber colored engine light come on while we were in Los Angeles. No dealer in area so FR sent us to Metro RV. Nice people. Took me right in and hooked it up to the computer to read the codes. Said it was a bad NOX sensor and sent us home to San Francisco to have it replaced.

We're a few miles short of 36,000 miles so its a warranty issue.

If it's an emissions issue, federal law kicks in... 50K warranty apply to diesels?

Right, right! Thanx! I just looked at the warranty. All that emissions stuff - the NOx sensor is $475 - is covered for 5 yr/50K miles. And in California it goes up to 7 yr/70k miles.

Thank you for the heads up............

Heads up! Apparently there are two NOX sensors. Only five hundred miles after they replaced the forward NOX sensor the engine light came on again. And as before it came on after leaving my mother-in-law's house in L.A..

Took it to Mercedes in Thousand Oaks where they said it was the rear NOX sensor and replaced it under warranty which for emmissions is 7 years/70,000 miles in California.

I have a 2010 Freightliner branded Sprinter.
