According to this link it is. Scroll down to "Product Information" and you will see the MB OEM part numbers it replaces.

If you would like, PM me your VIN and I can look it up for your specific unit.

Many people use Mann filters since it is assumed they make the original equipment filters.

5 pin Fuel filter 2012.5 and newer - Mann WK 820/14 which replaced 820/7 If you replace Mercedes clips they say to use one 13mm and one 15mm clamps. Out of stock on online stores.

Oil filter - Mann HU 821X

Once a year or 10'000 miles is cheap insurance. How often do change oil in your car? I change mine every 25to 3000 mi .

With Mobil 1 I change every 5000 in my cars and motorcycle. MBS 8000, only because I tow. Probably don't need to change that often because of the quality of today's oils and unleaded fuels.

I am just doing my first oil change, well actually the change is done, but i need to rest the cluster. Ive watched a couple of youtube videos and one says do the "reset .31" and the other "reset .51". These are two different classes and i dont want to reset the wrong one. For the MBS 3 litre V6 which is it? Thanks

If your oil spec for your Mercedes is 229.51 it is .51.

The new oil spec is .52. 229.52 0w30 weight. I just got mine from the M-B dealer. $11.50 a litre. But lots cheaper than at their shop! ANYWAY, I guess the .51 selection is the one to go with for the V6 engine.

Here is a list of oils that meet the 229.52 spec, you should be able to get Mobil 1 ESP or Valvoline for $6-8 a quart at Amazon or NAPA.

Just Changed the Oil on 2015 Solera R (2014 Chassis)

I had an independent shop do my first oil change (10,200 miles) on my 2015 Solera. Shop used all MB parts from dealership.

I watched the shop owner do the oil change and it couldn't be easier. I will definitely do it myself next time.

13 qt. of MB 229.52 spec oil $9.50 qt.
1 MB Oil Filter $14
1 MB Air Filter $25
1 MB Cabin Filter $18

Labor $75.00

Its interesting to note that the oil filter was starting to break down (pleating was starting to collapse) additionally a rodent or bird had made its way into the air filter compartment and put a bunch of leaves and grass under the air filter. I will probably periodically open the air filter housing and inspect for future activity.

I'm planning to do the next oil change in 7500 miles or 1 year paying particular attention to the oil filter. I will probably have the fuel filter done at the same time.

Just a heads up on oil change. Every Spring and Fall NAPA runs a monthly flyer special on Mobil spec 229.52 oil. Found that out courtesy of other posters here. This past September it was $5.99/qt. You will also need a oil filter wrench (check ebay), to spin off the oil filter canister cap. That's about $78 bucks oil cost plus tax. Doing it yourself saves you about $120 bucks +/-, for about 30 mins work, using your example of the $75 labor add.

Some advice, if your so inclined. Measure the amount of oil removed, by pouring the spent oil into gallon jugs (milk, etc.) that way you know exactly how much new oil to add. MB sprinters are notorious for holding some oil in the motor, pan, etc. unless your unit is completly level during the drain cycle.

Thanks for the advice. The mechanic added 12 quarts and started the motor and ran the engine for 30 sec to a minute. He then turned it off and rechecked dipstick about 4 times and carefully added the last quart about 1/4 on the bottle at a time each time checking the dipstick. At the end of the last quart the oil was right at the upper fill line. This approach made sure there was enough oil without overfilling. With that being said, I'm sure there are other ways to make sure the proper amount of oil is added too.

I picked my oil up at NAPA (when buying that much be sure to ask for a discounted price). With the oil filter and sales tax the total came to 142.14 -- WA sales tax is high. The oil change is one of the easiest I've done. The drain plug is easily accessible on the side of the pan and the filter simply fits down on the housing after removing the air intake duct (don't forget the O rings). What took the most time was opening and pouring all of those quart containers into the funnel…. Changing the oil on the ONAN LP generator was just as simple -- the drain plug was covered by a cover plate. I did the first change at just over 11,000 miles. Incidentally, a mechanic at Mercedes Benz mentioned that the proprietary oil at the dealership is in fact made for them by Mobil and just packaged by the Benz folks. We took delivery of our Sunseeker MBS last March and have put 15074 miles on it already (two long trips and several small ones so far) with only minor glitches along the way. Can you tell we love it?

With regard to the FUEL filter, be sure to read posts 48 through about 54 above. Be aware of the Compensator Ring issue.
