Oil change

Looking for opinions I don't have that many miles 4666 is it better to change oil before winter. Or in the spring after the cold weather and snow. I've heard different thoughts as to which is the best way to go. Some say not good to let the old oil sit in pan all winter. But in the spring you can start off with new oil for the year. I run my mbs once a month and Gen to circulate oil. Appraite any feed back.

I'm a fan of letting fresh oil sit in the engine through the winter. So, I would change it now.

X 2 on fresh oil! Used oil may have some acids building up from use. Also, you are ready to go when you drag it out!

I have always done in the spring but I believe it doesn't matter. If you have the 2015 chassis you have to change at 1 year or 20,000 miles so you have a lot of life left on that oil.

Personally, I would wait, it's just a few months and you said you run it. You will not get it hot enough to evaporate the moisture you will have. The acids you will have in the oil are nothing to worry about in an engine with good oil and of sound mechanical condition, start fresh in the spring and not worry about it.

Also, having a full additive package with the new oil can't hurt during storage. Additives wear out with time and use.
