every 10K for us, generally go by the book on all vehicles, pretty sure they are smarter than me!

I used them when I had my diesel. Test results are interesting and can give you a good baseline if done when the engine is new. Subsequent tests can be compared to see if there is any unusual wear occurring vs universal averages and your own previous tests.

With one caveat. Wait till your out of factory warranty. You won't win that argument with the mfg. if you have an engine issue. Just sayin'
