Sanpedroflyer, I think the uncertainty and poor communication from both the manufacturer and the dealer that you are experiencing seems to be the norm. My Sunseeker 2400R was scheduled for delivery this past Thursday. I had checked with the dealer a couple of times over the past 2 months to validate that things were on track, and I was told it would be on time. On the morning of the planned delivery date I got an email from the dealer saying it was delayed 2 more weeks and had not yet been painted. Now, I completely understand that there are complexities with scheduling, parts, painting, etc. But I don't think keeping people in the loop regarding delays is unreasonable. If a date is slipping it should be communicated right away. And if you complain, the dealer blames the factory and the factory blames the complexity of the build process. This industry hasn't quite mastered communication between factor, dealer, and customer, and just shrugs off delays with excuses. This isn't the only industry with a complex build and scheduling process. When buying a six-figure vehicle you aren't out of line expecting an accurate target date for delivery.

They did give them a target date. July 4th.

Sometimes with delays we don't know until we know.

We don't track units individually. So if I see a retail unit offline I assume that everything is OK, but let's say 2 weeks after it came off (and should be coming back from paint) its still not done, so I may ask about it and then find out it never went to paint due to an issue or part shortage.

90% of the units we build go through the process and get completed within our typical time frame.

Not trying to blame anyone or anything, just trying to give more insight into the process. As a factory rep I do not quote delivery times. The only thing I give out is typical build times and I try to list that with as many asterisks as possible.

He gave me an unsigned, undated MSRP. I just now noticed that it has item #708 Sofa IPO Dinette with a "1" in the space. I ignored that because there was no charge and I did not know what IPO meant at the time.
We definitely told him we wanted the dinette because we need the bed (I don't see where the sofa converts to a bed). Can I and how do I get this corrected? Thanks again for the quick replies.

The sofa does make into a bed, however, if it is not what you ordered I would get with your dealer quickly. We're just about beyond the point of changes.

IPO is "In Place Of". If you ever see something you don't understand, do not hesitate to ask the dealer. They should be able to answer or call us for an answer.

Bclemens, I thought I posted a question for you, but I don't see it. Can you post a picture of the 24R sofa IPO dinette with the bed open? Can you also post the "open" dimensions as a bed (L X W)? Thanks

I could, but it appears that the change request already came in to switch it to a dinette and it is too late to go back.

The bed, regardless if it is the dinette or sofa is about 68" wide by 42" deep.

Thanks bclemens!

my wife prefers the Dinette, but I was afraid the Dealer had not requested the correction and wan't to see if we could live with the Sofa. He promised to get back to me on Monday, but never did.

I don't suppose he requested the cargo net for the bunk area which I also asked him to add??

I also would appreciate knowing that you now have a 24 R in production with our name on it: Peter and Karen Junger.

Glad to know that you are there and so helpful.

The safety net was also added. The unit is just listed as "retail", but is due offline next month.

Hi Brian. Thanks for the weight calculation spreadsheet.

Probably a stupid question, but shouldn't our name be on the RV by now (offline date approx 6/05/15)?

Also I came across a 2013 wiring diagram that has a
*** - SATELLITE RECIEVER OPTION

Did that option go away or become part of Basic Solera?
I eventually would like to add a Satellite capability and if there is cabling in my RV for it, I would like to know that. Also diagram calls out "BOX, SATELLITE CONTROL & SATELLITE USER INTERFACE" Are/were they commercial "off the shelf" products? still available?

Thanks for your help.

Name goes on it, only if the dealer adds it. Otherwise, it just says retail.

We pre-wire for satellite and that is all. There were too many options in the field and in many cases the customer did not get what they thought they were getting. So we leave that up to the dealer. All the parts you need will be available at the dealer level...whether its fixed roof mount, portable carrying out, etc, etc.
