Product Support after warranty expires

Hello,

We bought our Solera a year ago and love it but the factory warranty has now expired. Although we really like the Solera we have had what I believe to be way too many issues regarding poor workmanship at the factory. We also have had the problem with the right rear wheel simulator flying off and leaving us with two flat tires.

We tried to get FR to extend the warranty for a year. They refused. Their reply was that FR does not abandon their customers and will "goodwill" issues as long as it is a FR problem.

My question is this. Has anyone had experience with FR regarding "goodwill" repairs after the warranty has expired as long its not normal wear and tear?

Thank you.

Many on here have great experiences with Forest River, even after the warranty has expired. The flat tires you mention is not a Forest River problem. That would come under the chassis maker of the motor home. As with trailers, it would be the frame maker of the trailer. Not what you wanted to hear, but just my opinion.

Just had the rear right hub cap fly off also. She made me send pictures of damage. Waiting to hear back from them now. This sounds like a safety issue to me.

I too have had the wheel cover fly off, leaving me with two flat tires. The bottom line is that having both valve stems connected to the wheel cover is avery bad idea.

I'm putting the steel stems on the back rims when I get home. Then plan to put a short extension on the inside wheel and the 180 extension on the outside. I'll let you guys know how it comes out. Do not plan to hook them up to the hubcaps. These hubcaps should be bolted on wheel if this is the way they want to hook them up. Lucky Forest River is going to pay for the cap and the trim.

If our Soleras came with the tire pressure monitoring system, they'd have already come with the steel stems.
