Progressive Dynamics 9200 Series INTELI-POWER converter Installation
I am planning on replacing my WFCO converter with a Progressive Dynamics 9200 Series INTELI-POWER converter next month along with coach battery replacement. I would appreciate any tips/info/problems (etc) that are Solera related on this installation-Thanks in advance.

Dan,
I have a 2012 Solera "S" and I was able to get it to fit where the WFCO was previously located.
Tight fit, but it does.
I just set the pendant behind the door to the water filter (under the bed).

There is that mod you can do by cutting an access door on the right side wall of the under bed outside cargo hold. That allows you better access to the wall where the wafco converter is anchored. Otherwise your working through the raised panel door at the base of the bed.

I just removed the entire panel for the install.
Haven't had to access the converter since.

The PD 9200 series is what FR installs on the Solera now. It is a smarter, three stage converter.
The old WFCO is a battery killer from what I understand.

I cut a separate access panel in the plywood under the rear bed. Your model may be different.

The WFCO is also a three stage converter. How is it a battery killer Pod2vibe? Most all recent converters in the last several years are. I have read about unit failure issues higher than FR might expect. That might be the reason they switched. Mine has been operating fine for over three years.
Whats different with the PD 9200 over the old WFCO.

I had a WFCO in my Rpod and it boiled the battery.
Multiple RV forums also mention this problem, especially when at one site/plugged into shore power for long periods.
The PD is a smarter converter and it also has the charge wizard dongle so you can monitor what it is doing at all times and change its mode at any time.

You should have the PD.
If you pull out the left drawer below the kitchen sink cupboard, you will see it on the 24R.

Have the WFCO converter and except when it is being driven keep the RV connect to shore power 24/7. Have done this for the past two years, . Added water for the first time today. It did need some, but not dry by any means.
BTW, I do think the Progressive converter may be 4 stage.

You are correct, Mike.
BOOST, NORMAL, STORAGE and DESULFATION

Mikegjax sorted me on this, the PD 9200 is a 4 stage since it has the desulfation mode.

Had to replace the WFCO with the Progressive Dynamic 9200. It fit int he same space as the WFCO Much better converter. We have 2012 Cedar Creek 29RE. New converter works great and ours came with the pendent when we ordered it from Amazon.

Interesting on the fourth stage, desulferization. I'd be curious if that does in fact extend the battery life due to that occurrence (sulfur buildup) from multiple charge discharge cycles.
Also, for those who have switched the converter out, do you know if the output to the coach batteries is greater than the current supplied by the chassis alternator. Sprinters alternator, is very heavy duty in that it is rated at 14V/220 amp. That really kicks the coach batteries, if sensing a need for a charge when driving. I was wondering if the output on the gen set/transfer switch/converter path to the BM controller is similiar in charging current.
