Question for bclemens

Brian,

Is there any updates on the Pro-Tech diesel generator testing and if it is going to be made available in the near future? This is one of my main things that I want on a Solera.

I don't want to be boondocking and run out or propane to run my fridge. That would be a disaster not being able to keep my beer cold!!!

Thanks for any updates,

Butch

I don't like the idea of my beer getting warm ether! We had to order our Solera with a LP gen set but plan on trading it out if propane becomes an issue. I was planning on trying to get my hands on a 3.2 Onan diesel and do a swap. What is this Pro-Tech diesel gen you speak of? Is it recommended unit?

Propane

I adds a connection that allows me to hook up another propane tank to RV.

No updates yet. We proto-typed one and that's as far as we have gotten. We're concerned with supply issues since its not a main stream item. We are also looking to see if we can fit a bigger LP tank in there since we can't rely on a diesel option in the foreseeable future.

How about a standard solar option factory installed. There is plenty of room up there

Probably not any time soon. The options on solar are almost endless. Just topping batteries? Charging battery bank for inverter? We ran a prototype this year on a fleet run for a rental dealer but that was only a 40 watt panel to prevent battery discharge in the winter. We may possibly look at it after a year in the field...but the demand is not really that high for it from the factory.

Charge batteries
Run my fantastic fans
Maybe a small inverter to run a computer
Or my magic bullet (margarita )
The panels have come way down in price

Chill,

Sorry I didn't see your post till today but the Pro Tech I was speaking of was one the Brian had talked about that they were looking for a replacement for the Onan. It was in an earlier post discussion on the generators.
