The rear LED lights are on constantly on even when the coach is completely shut down. It is only the two bulbs on the inside on the rear lights. This is a new problem that I just noticed tonight. Solera is new with only 5000 miles. Anyone had this issue or know of secret switch.
I don't think the brake lights should come on if the chassis key switch is off, regardless of the brake switch.
I'm thinking there may be some kind of relay board in the coach that controls the rear lights and it is the culprit. Just a hunch really but I don't know of any modern vehicle that will light the brake lights when the vehicle is not turned on.
Well I just went out and stepped on the brakes with the key off (in fact the key was in my hand) of my 2011 Ford F350 and the brake lights came on. I know that our 2011 Toyota Highlander brake lights come on no matter if the key is on or off.
I would sure look at the brake switch first, don't' make it any more complicated than it needs to be. .Check the simplest thing first before checking on relays and everything else
Try checking the voltage on the trailer hitch (connector) first. If no brake light voltage is present at the hitch then you probably have a control board problem. If constant voltage at the hitch then start checking at the brake light switch.
