Second possibility is to use some sort of pneumatic strut to hold the door open. A bit more involved than adding a latch and there might be an issue with how far open the strut holds the door (to avoid interference with the slideout...)
Gas strut can be used but you would have to calculate the anchor points to prevent door interfering or getting caught in the slide.
Another remote possibility is turning the door 180° and hinging from the bottom if the door wouldn't hit the ground.
