Removing Light Covers on 24S

I'm having trouble removing the light fixtures underneath the kitchen cabinets and the underneath the dining table cabinets on my '12 24S. I tried using plastic bicycle tire irons--which worked on the ceiling fixtures--to pry the fixtures by the glass covers won't budge and the fixture spins in the socket. I saw an older post but didn't see any solutions. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

Thanks

Vince

On our 2012 "S" on the lights with a metal ring around the lens, both the metal ring and the lens come off together after a quarter turn. On some of them I had to use a small flat bladed screw driver between the metal ring and the mounting surface, prying slightly to free the ring sufficiently to twist it.

Correct!

You are correct my friend. Those lights were easier. The ones I was referring to look like the ones on the ceiling. No metal ring. I could use a screw driver but I don't want to risk damaging the cabinets.

Mine did come off "with encouragement". I think I used a plastic jar top remover to grip them and twist the requisite quarter turn or so. Maybe a strap wrench?
If, as you say, the fixture is turning, I believe the mounting screws must be pulled out - in that case you should be able to pull the whole fixture straight down. Might be an "interference fit" but with some wiggling should come down to the wire slack limit.
