Removing the water filter

I assume the canister holding the water filter screws off the mounting but do you need a special tool th remove or can it be done by hand?

Yes it takes a spanner that should have come with your RV.

If the canister was installed with no lube on the "O" ring, you will probably have to use the canister wrench. I lube the "O" ring and can remove the canister without the wrench.

BTW, use something like Danco silicone paste and DO NOT USE a petroleum based lube like Vaseline as it will deteriorate the "O" ring over time.

You may or may not have gotten one of these.

Might be in a drawer or cabinet.

Because some here have had real problems with the bolted in filters I have suggested removing them all together.

Bypass it and put it outside in this or something like it.

Make sure you release the water presure in the line before taking it off.
