It was a pleasant experience with RV Direct, no problems. There dealerships on the other hand I can only peak to one and I will tell everyone I can DO NOT deal with Des Moines RV. RV Direct is also RV One Superstore, they have 5 dealership and RV Direct can not help you with any issues you have with there dealerships. If you use RV Direct document everything, photos, emails, phone calls.

As soon as we saw quality start to suffer, we dropped immediately to 13 a day so that we could catch up the shortages without rushing.

I don't know anything about the Surveyor plant (different division), but at Class C plant #34...that's how we do it.
Which factory do you represent?

If my local dealer ever told me he wouldn't service my unit because I didn't buy it from him I certainly would NEVER do business with them. PERIOD...

And sadly, many make that exact choice.

I would go $1000 more plus shipping. The local is generally picking up financing and in many cases profit on the trade he low balled you on. And odds are if he does give you an attractive deal, you will use their service. The problem is this. Some dealers try to take you to the cleaners on all three, new, trade and service. Unless you are really savvy about the whole purchasing process, you will be at their mercy.

I bought a 2015 2400s with full body paint and all features except the stabilizers for $75,000 from a dealer. The RV Direct price was much higher.

buy the best price

I too bought from the local dealer (RV One, Div. of RV Direct Group) and experienced bad service. I went to another dealer (Mesa in Florida) and had excellent service: No questions asked warranty work, friendly and quality work. So my advise is buy from whomever has the lowest price.
