Safe T Alert carbon monoxide and gas sensor

The sensor located above my steps has gone off at least 5 times over the past few weeks just sitting in my driveway with nothing on or anyone in the RV. I've opened up all of the vents and even opened up the window over the sink/above sensor and it still went off. It typically will go off early evening and just curious if anyone else had issues and if they found a cause? I'm thinking it might be the gas from the coach batteries that are under the steps?

Did you check level of your house batteries? If they are low the CO detector will trigger.

I had to replace the detector in my Keystone Cabana after about 5 years. I think they do not work as well when they start to age. I figured it was better to replace it than wonder if it was working properly.

They have an "expiration date" stamped on them somewhere, and yes, it is generally 5 years from the manufacture date.

Ad same problem. Sent it back to the supplier and they said they found nothing wrong, but it has never gone off again after putting it back in camper.

Mine just started going off. LP detector, not CO. Gas is off at the tank, all appliances off, as well. Triple checked everything. No gas smell.

I can press the button and it stops, if only for a few hours.

Thought that it might need replacing. Now I know.

Same deal with the LP detector. LP and CO detectors are like the smoke detector in your home - they'll alert when the battery is low. I'd check the house battery first... if it's fully charged, then the sensor may need replacing.

low battery not an issue in my case. am at home on shore power.

I think I have had this problem too (false alarm on the LP & CO detector) but have suspicions that it may be detecting Hydrogen gas from the understep battery compartment.

I was adding distilled water to the batteries - something I do every couple of months (I keep my 2013 Solera connected to shore power) and the LP detector went off when I filled the cells closest to it. I reset the alarm and it was quiet for half a day when early that evening my neighbor calls me to tell me there is an alarm going off in my RV (It was a warm day too). Alarm was the LP/CO detector.

Could the issue be outgassing of hydrogen from batteries? I'm guessing this might be the root cause.
