[QUOTE=dahagen;1045244]I use 1/2 cup for my 45 gallon water tank. Too much bleach and you will never get the taste out.

After I flush all the bleach water out I add a gallon or two (depending on size of fresh water tank) of white vinegar, fill the tank and flush again. Never any after taste. Buy the cheapest vinegar you can find.

Only one issue I can think of if not properly used is some seal somewhere, but if used correctly it is needed, and very safe.
Happy Camping
Google "Sanitizing RV fresh water tank" and you will find numerous instructions that state never (often written as NEVER) add straight bleach to the fresh water tank. But I've yet to find one that says why.

As others have posted, I put some fresh water in the tank, add the bleach and have never had a problem in many years of RVing.

Thanks for the reply.

I use Spring Fresh, let it sit in a full tank and all the lines in RV for a couple days, then flush system. I have been doing this since 2012, no smells or bad taste.
