Sensor?

On the front license plate of my 2011 Solera is a sensor of some sort. It is centered in the bottom of the plate. I thought at first it was a tag light.
Can't find any info in the owners' manual. Anybody got a clue?

Picture might help. What does it look like? Round? Square? Flat? Spherical? Color matched to the rig? Glass?

Temperature sensor? These are normally located somewhere near the air intake for the radiator.
