Has anyone adjusted their slideout before? Mine appears to be sticking out an inch at the back lower corner.
It looks like it needs to raised up about an inch so that the slide does not contact the coach prematurely. It also appears that there isn't anymore adjustment left. My dealer is a 10 hour round trip so I don't want to take it there if there is an easy fix.
Thanks, unfortunately I need to adjust it vertically by moving the rear up. It's adjusted to the max, so I can't get it to go up anymore without installing shims.
Right now, the slide is hitting the coach where it's not supposed be. I am surprised it hasn't caused any damage yet.
I am going to look at it further to see if I can shim it. Forest River tried adjusting it at the factory to fit right, ran out of adjustment and let it go out the door anyway.
Your adjustment on the brackets are the same as mine. looks like the front is flush but the rear of the slide is pushed out. I don't believe this is an up/down adjustment. Either the front goes out to parallel or the back goes in. I wouldn't touch it because of the warrenty risk. Looks like you need a dealer that forest river will acknowledge to do the repair. Good luck.
Ya , I think this is going to be left to an authorized dealer. It's a real pain to get warranty work done as the dealer where I purchased it is a 5 hour drive away. There is a Forest River Dealer 45 minutes away but they don't carry Solara. I called that dealer a while back and they gave me the run around stating that they would have to charge me $150 processing fee to handle warranty work and that they are booked until August.
I have to say, this is the worst part of owning an Solara. Getting warranty work done is a real pain. I couldn't buy close to home because there isn't a place to buy and I live in a large city!
I would think FR would discourage dealers in the network from charging processing fees for warranty work. I've never had to do that with a car.
That sounds bogus to me! If they are using those tactics, then FR should be all over them.... I pay no fees for warranty work. Some dealers try to discourage work if a company is slow on reembursement. I'd push back on this.
