Soft Brakes

I have a 2014 24R with about 3500 miles on it.
I have to stand on the brakes pretty hard, especially at the end of the braking process.
The pedal is not firm and when stopped, I can continue to depress it almost to the floor. I think it should be firm once stopped.
The dealer says this is normal, I think it's just a bit scary.
I'm setting up a Wrangler toad with a Night Shift braking unit on it, but have not pulled it yet. Not sure I want to try it!
Any thoughts about soft brakes out there?

If your referring to your "dealer" meaning FR, then they are not the people who need to look at it. If your referring to a MB "dealer", you need to take it back and have them inspect, and or replace components. What you are experiencing IS NOT proper functioning of the braking system on your sprinter chassis, and sounds like a faulty master cylinder, or other brake system components.

My 2013s has great brakes. And when I tow my wrangler rubicon with an electric booster on board the wrangler, it stops even better

X3. Great brakes on our 2012. Something isn't right.

We have a 2014 chassis with soft brakes too! I'll have to take it to MB for a check.

Same on our 2014R. Will find a MBS dealer and have it checked.

Travel safe!

Sure appears there is a pattern developing. Looks like soft brakes in '14 model year(s). If any of you guys get it fixed, ask the MB dealer if they had TSB (technical service bulletin)issued on that problem yet.

Was there a Sprinter chassis change in '14, just wondering.

We hope to get our brakes checked out next week. I'll report back.
Good idea, Still Kickin, to ask about a TSB.

I have a 14 Benz/15 Solera with 6K mles. The brakes seemed to be on the softly side early on. I live in MD. It was delivered in Buffalo, took it to New Orleans and back, then to Florida for the month of February. The rig ran great with exception of a failed sensor. Because of brake paranoia introduced by this blog I had the MB Shop check the brakes. I received received a clean bill of health and a new sensor.
