what do u mean ...our inverter was a direct pass through? My question is can the dealer use the existing cables 8 ga (the red, white without cutting them just using splicer adapter)
can he use those cables to wire 1200 watt inverter so we don’t have to run new wire? eill taht damage the circuit?
do u have diagram show how to run to the wires where to suggest running to through the chassis to the kitchen etc..?

I had a 2000W inverter installed to uset it with my Toaster, Microwave, TV and tools. I had a complete installation guide, Look into previous tread you will fine it. the cost is under $ 200. and time to take 1 to 2 Hours. It is very easy for any one.

Curious, how long will the batteries last to 50% capacity at that 2000 A/C draw?

The Deep sycle batteries has built to take the stress. The inverter has built protection, when getting close to depletion first warn then shot down. When first start to beep start your engine to maintain Voltage. How long the battery last , no one knows. but at list 5 to 6 years with proper maintenance.
If you just want to power your TV a 400 W ready to plug in to the cigar lither cost around $ 30-$ 40. I hope answer your question.
