Solera 24R rear bed/sofa pics?

I might not be looking hard enough, but I wanted to see some pics of the 24R rear bed/sofa when the slideout was in - not out with the bed made.

Does it become a sofa of sorts? Can you still close the door and use it as a sitting area - or dare I say, office? I wanted to see what it looked like, and ask people what they thought of it when the slideout was in. I cannot for the life of me find photos of that.

Thanks!

24R Bedroom side in

Here is part of what you're looking for -- the 24R with the bedroom slide IN and the bedspread in place.

The bed does not turn into a sofa. It is a two piece mattress that slides on top of each other. Would not make an office.

Thanks for posting the photo. So it's more like a twin bed when the slide is in? Can you sit on the folded bed comfortably? Do you consider it usable in this mode?

You could lift up the back mattress if you wanted. I've taken a nap on this bed with the slide in. I was diagonal of course, but it worked in a pinch.

Normally I would just hop up into the cab over, but I had an entertainment center.

Since you guys started this thread is there anybody that takes a nap in the bed on a 24S or in the overhead compartment while driving? One of the reasons for buying a motorhome rather than a trailer is to be able to nap on the road.

PS: I rode most the way from NJ to Colorado up in the rear deck of my parents 68' Chrysler VIP as a kid. So I have experience sleeping in a pizza oven.

They say never to do that because you won't have a seat belt. But, yes, I've slept on the corner bed while DH was driving. Very bouncy, so not really conducive to a deep sleep. Never tried the overhead as we use that for storage mostly.

When the kids were growing up, we had a conversion van with a full bed in the back. We'd leave OKC at 9 or 10 pm and nearly be in Florida before they woke up the next morning!

I too slept many a mile in the back window of the parents 60's ford. Liked it better than the floorboard and sisters actually got the rear seat!

SWMBO has climbed into the loft and napped while traveling several times. She claims it's a lot better up there than it used to be in the bedroom of the old pusher, because you don't feel sway up there. I haven't been up there while she's driving - SWMBO is a terrible driver, and I want to be awake when I meet my maker!

The caveat is that the loft is a catchall for supplies. We've learned to put everything in plastic boxes to make it easier to clear the bunk for napping.

Earlier post DebbieMH mentioned that we're supposed to be strapped in with seat belts... "Gosh, I didn't know that officer-thanks for telling me"
