Solera Electric Brakes for Tow Trailer

Has anyone installed an electric brake system in their Solera? I understand that the 2013’s are already prewired. Appreciate any info (Controller, etc.)-Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have an idea if the 2013 Solera is prewired for an electric brake (Plug & Play). I could not find the wiring harness, looked but not sure where it is. Appreciate any info from those that have done an electric brake setup on their Solera. I plan on using a Tekonsha Prodigy controller. Thanks.

Dan: I can't remember where or when I read it, but apparently the wiring harness for the brake controller is located in the cabinet under the driver's seat. You may check there!

I too need to hook up a brake controller. I looked under the drivers seat and could find nothing. Has anyone installed a brake controller?

Unfortunately, My 2014 24S does NOT have the little green plug under the seat.

Are the 2014's ordered from Mercedes without the trailer tow package?

Has the brake control connector been moved to a different location for 2014'?

Apparently, MB does not provide a wire harness for a brake controller.
This is according to a Mercedes Benz Dealer and Mike from Forest River. Mercedes condones tampering with their electrical system what so ever. Forest River recommends connecting a brake controller using the leads from the tail lights, as they are Not Mercedes Benz tail lights. I am going to have to install a brake controller the old fashion way by running all new wire. At least I will know that the wire is large enough to handle the current. Good by 35 minute job, hello 4 hour job.

I successfully installed a brake controller in my 2014 24S.
First off, I was disappointed to find the Forest River put a 7 pin trailer plug on the hitch without providing all the proper wiring. After tracing all the wires from the hitch back, I found that the blue wire used for a trailer brakes goes all the way up to the compartment under the driver seat. While this is certainly helpful, it still does not provide for all the wires necessary to install a brake controller.

Still need brake switch wire, power and ground. While power and ground are easy to obtain in the same compartment as where the blue wire resides, the brake switch (red wire) is no where to be found.

From suggestion at Forest River, I tapped into the brake switch wire at the rear of the coach, which forced me to run 25 feet if wire. The brake light switch wire can be found once you locate the coach driving lights control board. Mine is located next to the shower pan and is accessed by removing a panel in the large outside storage area.

This could easily be provided by Forest River.

Well, we may be late on this. But we're thinking about adding wires for side cameras. I remembered your post and asked engineering if while we're at it we can add anything necessary for this as well...or order the pigtail on the chassis.

Either way, just wanted to say thanks for bringing this to our attention.
