Solera Fresh Tank Fill Modification
A few times when camping without hookups, I needed an easy way to add fresh water that didn't involve trying to dump water down the hose fill line.
I know I could have purchased a secondary 12v pump but there had to be an easier way, so I installed the bypass valve and piping shown in red.
This allows me to fill the fresh water tank when I am hooked up to city water by just opening the valve.
If not connected to city water, I can open the valve, switch the outside valve to winterize, and use the house pump to fill the fresh water tank through the glycol fill hose. I was able to pump a 5 gallon container into the fresh water tank in about 2 minutes.
A lot easier than trying to dump down the outside hose fill and I didn't need a second pump. The other advantage is since the line is after the house filter, all water added to the fresh water tank is filtered.
The valve is easily accessed through the panel under the bed in my 24S. In other floor plans that may not have this access, a 12v solenoid could be used.
I also used quick connect fittings, making installation a breeze and all for about $20.
