We used to put the ladder up on the bunk...then we realized that with about $2 in parts we could put a plastic strap and a snap on the wing wall and it worked great.

Of course you can never win. We have a handle INSIDE and OUTSIDE on the striker side of the door...some people still insist on using the ladder to get in and out at shows and then blame us for stupidly mounting it there when it comes loose.
