Solera MPG and DEF Capacity

Considering the FR Solera vs Ford Gas C class. Do you get 12-15 MPG as the sales people state? Also, I read the DEF capacity is 2gal and only last 5,000 miles. Is that true?

I regularly get 12-13 mpg on my 2015 (2014 Chassis) Solera 24R and I drive 70+ on the Interstate. Some here get 14-15 mpg with reduced speeds. I have added DEF at about 4200 and 8400 miles. Just over 2 gal each time so I think your dealer is giving you a pretty straight answer.

My experience is essentially identical. 12 MPG highway (can be 11 with strong headwind); About 2k miles per gallon of DEF. After service I wait 3K miles, then add a gallon of DEF and add a gallon every 2K miles thereafter (avoid warning lights). On our Alaska trip - while we were traveling slower - saw many 14-16 mpg tanks of diesel.

I get about 14 MPG not towing, towing takes it down to about 12. Same as the other's on the DEF.

Picked our Solera Nov 11th. So far two fillups and get 13 mpg. I'm happy with that. I picked up DEF Fluid but have no idea when to put it in. Have a thousand miles on it now.

The newer model Solera's have the DEF tank up under the hood next to the radiator. Very small opening for the tank you'll need a funnel.

The 2.5 gallon DEF container that I get has a short hose/nozzle in the box.
Thus you don't necessarily need a funnel. The tip of the hose fits perfectly in the filler opening. A small air valve on the nozzle allows you to control the flow by holding your finger over it. I believe the DEF tank is approx 3 gallons.

MPG diesel around 14.5 not towing, 11.8 to 12.8 towing.

^^ What he said ^^. Used to be 7 gallons next to the door, but that took a storage compartment. So when it could move to engine compartment we did. Went to 3.2 gallons if I recall.
