Toad Brake and Turn Signal Wiring

I plan to tow a 2013 Honda Fit behind my 2013 Solera. All the mechanical towing bits are in place, but I cannot get the brake lights and turn signals to function.

After considerable troubleshooting, I think that the output voltage from the seven pin connector on the Solera is insufficient to power the incandescent lamps on the Fit. The black wire on the connector (constant 12V) works fine, and I see a change in voltage on the appropriate turn and brake signal wires, but it doesn't seem sufficient to power the Fit's lamps.

I understand that the Solera lights are LEDs. Does anyone know what the output voltage from the Solera should be? Could it be the difference between the power required for the LED lamps on the Solera vs the incandescent lamps on the Fit?

Thanks in advance for any help or insight you can provide.

How are you wiring your toad to the coach 7 pin connector?

You are also supplying the ground from the coach 7 pin connector to your toad, right?

Also supplying ground. Using standard 7 pin to 5 pin transition piece.

With the very capable help of FR engineering, I found a blown fuse in the controller box. I believe that this box has been discussed in other threads. Since replacing the fuse, I haven't had the chance to test it again, but I am hopeful that the fault has been found.

How are you connecting rv lighting to car lights a lot of people use the bulb kit to keep them separate I am pretty sure you need diodes to prevent back feed in car

I am using diodes to isolate the toad system from the Solera system. Problem has been insufficient voltage from the Solera to operate the toad lamps with or without diodes.

Lights

Try placing jumper cable between vehicles to make sure you have a good ground
