Towing 3000 lbs +

Anyone pulling a toad weighing 3000 lbs or more with their Solera? If so do you have any comments? Received my base plate and tow bar today to start install in the morning. It is a little late to ask the question but what the heck.

It's rated for 4,200 lbs no problem. I know a few people that are towing a jeep and get along just fine.

Thanks BC. I didn't think it would be a problem, just looking for some reinforcement. The Solera seems to have plenty of power, enough to handle most things. I have been quit impressed with the performance to date.

I got the Ready Brake Elite towbar, Ready Brake breakaway system and Blue Ox base plate. Should handle everything.

I've towed a 3600lb Chevy Aveo with a 500lb car dolly no problems at all.

We are towing a Smart car on a Trailer-approximate weight 3,700 lbs. The 2013 Solera 24S does a "Great Job!"

Thanks all! Gives me a bit more confidence in my decision. I am half way through installing the base plate on my Malibu and quit for the day. Who ever wrote the instruction for installing on a Malibu has never even be close to one . I'll get er done in the morning.

We recently added a 2014 Honda CR-V "towed" that weighs 3,600# (actual scale weight). We're in the middle of our first trip pulling it with a 2013 Solera 24RS and have been impressed. Even pulling up some long, steep Montana grades we stayed at or above 50 mph. Fuel mileage has been an even 14 mpg thus far. And, the CR-V tows like a dream, using a Sterling (by Roadmaster) All-Terrain tow package and Stay-in-Play Duo breaking system. Andy Jr. and his crew at Al's I-5 RV in Bellingham, WA, did a great job with the installation.

Finally received the last item needed to complete my tow installation. After all is said and done, it was not a big deal doing the installation myself. Took it out for a short test pull and as you all have mentioned the Solera does a great job. I will be towing from Florida to Ohio this June and don't anticipate any problems. Thanks again all for your comments!
