This is our first motor home.

You are limited by the weakest link. First, refer to the owners manual. 2nd, be sure your hitch is rated = or greater than the owners manual max. 3rd, know the total weight of what you are towing. Lastly, whatever you are towing should also have a braking system.

We tow our Mini Cooper S, 6 speed manual tranny with our Winnebago ERA. The ERA is a 24' Sprinter class B motor home (3500 class). We use a Blue Ox tow bar and plate on the Mini and it's a dream to tow, hitch and unhitch. The Mini weighs 2400 lbs so it tows easily. Nice to tow a car that's lots of fun to drive when we get to our destination!

we recently got a 2013 Fiat to tow. 2300 pounds, flat tow on 4 wheels, key does not need to be on since steering wheel does not lock. Just tested on short trip but seems fine so far.
