TV and HMDI

My '15 24R has the large TV overhead instead of the buni. In the cabinet is an HMDI connector I thought I could use for a small Bluray DVD (too bad the Jensen VM9726BT is about 10 years behind technology. . .no HMDI, therefore not Bluray compatible).

I've tried a couple of HMDI devices and nothing show up the TV screen. The inputs are HMDI 2, 3 and 4, plus Bluray and composite, but all report No Service with the HMDI devices active.

Anyone know the trick?

Thanks.

My 2011 has a Toshiba TV and I've connected both iPhone and iPad via HDMI with no problems. Netflix is great if you're some place with wifi.

That female HDMI plate should feed directly to the TV. Is there not an HDMI 1?

No trick...I would see about pulling the TV and hooking in directly to the HDMI port first. If that works, then its probably a bad plate or loose connection.

HMDI Follow-up

I pulled the HMDI connector inside the cabinet and discovered a crudely cut hole but now HMDI cable. I’ll have to pull the 44” TV to make the connection. This looks like an easy two person job, assuming I need only remove the screws at the top and bottom of the TV. Has anyone done this? Any tricks I need to know?

Thanks.
