TV Shuts off

Our 2014 Solera has the Jensen 12V TV and it shuts itself off. This seems to be just shutting off without anyone touching the remote or television. Turn the unit back on and will work for a time then shuts off. Checked all connections and they are tight. Also notice the remote seems to not be working, replaced remote batteries and still not working. Anyone else have this problem. Will call our dealer as we are still under warranty.
Thank You
BadBob

Seems like I have heard of this before. On the remote issue the battery was not making good contact and the tab had to be bent out slightly. The TV may have a timer that you should be able to get to with the menu button on the remote or TV.

Would this be like a "battery saving" type setup?

Just asking.

I had a TV that kept shutting off, found out that they mounted it 1/2" or so from the wall, The instructions said it had to be 4" out from the wall, so it would overheat and shut down. They had to install a new wall mount and TV. After that not a problem anymore, someone didn't read the installation instructions.

You can use your cell phone camera or any digital camera to see if the remote is working. It can "see" the light that is emitted. Now that everyone is headed to their remotes armed with a camera. Good luck I like the overheating theory, try a small fan to see if it makes a difference.

The instructions for a 22 and 32 inch Jensen say 1 inch from the wall. Here are the timer instructions.

Will check all of these things and see if they help. This morning all seems to be working. I did check the sleep timer and made sure it was off. Heading down for a few days in Death Valley so will not be watching the TV.
Thank You

OK I spoke to soon. TV just shut down and will not stay on, think it may be defective. Will call dealer when we get home. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.
Thank You

I had a Toshiba in the fiver do the same thing. It would shut itself off after a few minutes. Someone on one of these message boards found the issue as being faulty capacitors on the PCB. I found a brand new Samsung at a big box store and its far sharper, brighter and an overall better quality.
