Using slide out 1/2 extended

My long term parking only allows for slide out to be extended approx. 1/2 way due to interfering wall. I know this isn't ideal but i would love to use it this way when parked at home. Would this create any potential issues, or damage the slide out? I would assume it was designed to be used fully extended only? Thanks for all of your help thus far.

The seals around the slide are only engaged when the slide is completely extended or completely retracted.

There are (2) sweeper seals (along the slide wall opening) that are still engaged. The "inside" seal will not be engaged so there will definitely be a draft. I certainly wouldn't expect it to be rain tight.

Dislaimer: Do at own risk.

The only way I would consider using it half out and half in is if I purchased a custom fitted and installed slide boot for the rig. Lippert makes them (they bought out a company called Solera, ironically enough), and because of the way they work, a watertight seal can be maintained even if the slide is not fully extended or retracted. There are two types, one that just goes around the top of the slide, and one that completely wraps around. I'd go for the latter.

Even with that, there is concern about insect and animal intrusion since the slide boot likely won't cover the bottom.

Good idea. I forgot about that Solera slide boot.
