W is here!
After 10 weeks' wait, my Forester MBS 2401W has arrived. We picked it up two days ago from Mike Thompson's RV in Colton CA, brought it home in San Diego, and immediately took it to a nearby beach (Fiesta Island) for a shake down. Then we went back to Fiesta Island last night for another outing. We thoroughly enjoyed our Forester and are having a great time. Here are some highlights and I will continue to write about our experience or answer questions in this thread.
1. We love the open space of W. The living area is much larger than R which we initially favored. The storage closet that divides living and bedroom now moves out with slide, creating a lot more space.
2. The storage space is smaller than R, by ~30% I think. But perhaps most noticeably is the storage space is now divided into several compartments, and none of them is very large. Although this may be a deal breaker to some, since this is our first RV, we'll work with the configuration. So far we've managed to bring two small foldable tables, a very large mat, 4 camping chairs, tool boxes, chock blocks etc, and there is plenty space left. I only wish one of compartments were large enough for snowboards/skis. The other inconvenience is most compartments are on the driver side.
3. The ride is interesting. It is easy to drive with good comfort. But I notice the sway not just at turns but at higher speed, ~ 70 mph, as well. I'm definitely considering a better sway bar but for now I'm ok not to bother for a while. Speaking of speed, ~ 60 mph is a very comfortable speed, in fact, it is more relaxing than driving 75~80 mph in my commute car.
4. When parked, it rocks when you walk around inside. Perhaps a stabilizer will improve it? Will look into it.
5. The new addition - a removal cocktail table at the front - is a great idea.
6. The purchased options: 15k A/C, haven't tested it; fantastic fan in bedroom, great to have; full-body paint: awesome! TV/DVD in bedroom, excellent high definition (so is the cabover TV); side-view camera: not sure if I need it because I'm already used to driving large vehicles but will DW decide.
7. Everything seems to be working fine during 3 hour inspection and two brief shake down trips. But many remain to be tested and I will report in the future. Other than construction debris, screws, paper, insulation material etc, I haven't found anything major to complain about. My dealer did tell me the cabover TV was cracked during their PDI, which was promptly replaced before we arrived.
Overall, we are happy with our W so far. The information I gathered from this wonderful forum has sufficiently prepared us for proper expectation. I don't think we would have even considered buying a motorhome without seeing it in person. The photos/video Brian posted here and many many posts on this forum made it possible. Thanks to everyone!

Very nice. It looks like a perfect size for two. I think the wife and I would love a camper like that.

Really nice! What are the switches / stuff on the pantry by the table? And on the side of the bed near the floor? Congratulations!

Nice looking rig. We have a 2015 24R which we've enjoyed for about a year so far. Congrats!

Jeff.....it's gorgeous! Love the color, all the interior space, the dinette with extra seatbelt, the big closet, etc.
May you, your wife and daughter make beautiful memories in it for many years to come!
Congratulations!

Ohhh, a little jealous. Mine is a year older and has no charging station. It's a nice rig -- they keep making them better each year!

Congratulations and thanks for the information. We're looking at this configuration but having trouble finding much info or photos since they're new.

I posted a video of the interior and exterior a week or so ago. But then again, first hand knowledge is even better.
