W is here - first real trip

We spent two nights dry camping at Joshua Tree National Park and had a fabulous time. Here is a recap on significant things related to W:

1. There was a heat wave on both days. The temperature ranged from high 80s during the day to low 50s at night. While driving or camping, we never had to turn on generator for A/C; the engine A/C was sufficient to cool the coach, which was very impressive.
2. W is a perfect size for us. It's really easy to get in a small campsite, park on street, or make U-turns on narrow roads. Very happy with the maneuverability.
3. Wowed a few neighboring campers with the layout. Very proud of that.
4. Propane is almost gone. This is the first tank since 20 days ago. I just want to find out how long it would last. So the fridge has been left on all the time; DW has cooked ~ 15 meals; Use water heater several times; Occasionally we turned generator on for microwave, coffee maker, not more than 30 min combined. Although I don't know if this is typical, overall I'm pretty happy.
5. At the end of the trip, the grey tank was 2/3 full and black was 1/3 full. Considering people would likely use more grey than black, the same 32 gal size for both doesn't seem to make sense to me.
6. The biggest inconvenience we encountered is not enough fresh water for a family of four. We filled up before the trip. We used the fresh water to prepare food, do dishes, flush toilet and other small washes, and took no showers. We drank bottled water and cooked with bottled water. We did not have enough water in the tank! Towards the end, I had to pour ~ 5 gal of bottle water into the tank so we had it for the bathroom. So, if Mr. Clemens reads this, perhaps consider reducing black tank by 10 gal and add it to fresh tank?

Overall we had a blast. We had no new issues. Here is a picture of our W at midnight:

Thumbs up Glad to hear good news

Very nice photo, by the way. I am still waiting for my W. I have never seen one in person so it's reassuring to hear good things from those who have experience with one.

Well that's off Desert Queen Mind Rd, not at a designated campground. We arrived late on Friday and all campgrounds were full because of spring break. We found a site at Jumbo Rock next day which is our favorite campground at Joshua Tree.

Noted on the tanks. Sometimes its about what will fit in a certain area and using standard sizes. Otherwise with everything we build it is a nightmare for parts.

On another note, if you don't mind that's a great shot we'd love to post it to the Facebook page with your permission.

Just a question about the tanks.
Many have complained about fresh water capacity. Why doesn't forest river offer a system to use grey water to flush our toilets. Seems like an easy mod during manufacture. A pump and some sort of valve.

Codes and regulations seem to frown upon that.

W is a new full wall slide model on a Sprinter chassis.
24W in the Solera line, 2400W in Sunseeker, 2401W in Forester.

W would be the correct term to refer to the floor plan layout in general without discriminating brand.
