wavy outside sidewall

We are purchasing a new 2014 24S Solera and have noticed what appears to be waves on the outside fiberglass siding. We are hesitate to take ownership tomorrow. Have there been problems on the sidewalls of the Solera that anyone knows of?

Thanks
Dave

You don't by any chance have a picture of the "waves" do you? You can look at a lot of laminated wall coaches, and you might can see spots that look weird, when in fact it's where some wall framing or something else is under the fiberglass skin. The fiberglass isn't that thick, and when vacuum bonded can take different shapes depending on what's behind it.

And of course, you have the dreaded thing that youroo mentioned. If I didn't like the way it looked, I'd walk away. Plenty more to choose from.

With the vacuum bond process we use, delamination is highly unlikely. As BigJohnD said...the foams and metal studs compress as different rates. When put under pressure you will get some slight variances in the sidewall. Pretty typical for a vacuum bonded structure. Without pictures it would be hard to tell.

Vacubonding against the metal frames and the gaps between the studs will leave noticeable "waves." That's not delamination. The fiberglass will slightly compress the foam insulation creating the wavy appearance. If the areas are delaminating, you'll be able to press in against the wall studs and feel "give." The stronger the vacuum, the more likely you'll see "waves." You'll also notice that the appearance will change slightly depending on the ambient temperatures..
