Our linen closet is just to the right of the toilet behind the door. We simply set the roll of TP on a shelf in the closet and grab it when we need it. Its easy to reach the linen closet door and the TP is out of sight when out of use.

I have a Salem and have a cupboard across from the commode and got a hanger for an extra roll and hung it over the door.
