Who has upgraded rear shocks?

Just curious as to what you installed and whether you did it yourself? I have installed the Hellwig bar but still would like to reduce the rocking when leaving driveways, etc.

I figure installing shocks should be a basic bolt on with nothing needed other than the basic tools and possibly a torque wrench. Am I missing something?

When my mechanic was installing the Hellwig, I had him remove a stock shock to inspect and we were shocked at the play in it. He had Napa Part Number: NS 66414 in stock. (Bilsteins would have taken a day or two to get) They are actually Monroe Gas Matic 60's and made a huge difference, including entering/leaving driveways.

Was wondering the same thing. Lots of talk on the forum but no real answers. I've got 2 local tire companies looking for shocks, but so far no help. I've been looking at the Bilstein and KONI shocks and struts.

The KONI products carry a lifetime warranty for as long as you own the coach. Definitely has an effect on the cost factor as they are pricey. About $890. for the set front and rear. Just can't seem to make up my mind.

I assumed the fronts were struts. Anyone know? I guess I could look but its in storage. If they are struts they likely are most of the cost of the set.

In this application, I think the rears are the most important for reducing the rocking.

Any input from those that know...will the Bilstein 177702 shocks fit our 2015 24R? We are getting mixed info from Bilstein. Anyone try installing the shocks themselves? My husband installed the Hellwig sway bar and is thinking installing the shocks would be similar.

Mr

Okay...... just got the answer I have been looking for. Yup upgrading the shocks and front struts was well worth the time and money. Just took our coach out for a spin, first since get new equipment. Wind was blowing about 20 MPH gusting about 25-30 MPH. The cross wind gusts did cause the coach to lean but not as it did before. MUCH more stable with the new Bilsteins. DW even drove on the freeway and handled it quite well for her first time driving the coach. A lot less rocking as well, and trucks don't bother it as much.

So the verdict is the new shocks and struts are well worth it.
