Since we live in metro Hotlanta the first thing I do with any new car or truck is get the windows professionally tinted. Tinting can make a huge difference in summer comfort here in the Southeast. For that reason I'm planning on having the door windows on our 2400W tinted right after it is delivered.
Last night I started thinking about tinting all
the glass. I've had very good results tinting large trucks and SUVs, my old Excursion comes to mind, so why not the entire
motor home? I normally use 3M Crystalline Window Tint
on our vehicles. I just had the 70 tint installed in our new C-Max, all the way around except the windshield, and the tinting really makes a huge difference in both heat and glare. I've also used the darker 40 tint in my trucks and SUV's which is the darkest street legal tint allowed in Georgia.
I'll definitely have our cab doors windows tinted with the 70. I'm not going too dark as I don't want to annoy the locals in areas we visit that have more restrictive tint laws than Georgia. But for the "house" windows I'm considering using the 50, or even 40, tint. Has anyone had their "house" windows tinted? If so how is it working for you as far as heat control?
