268RKS possible storage space?

In our 268rks kitchen cabinet next to the microwave (left side) there's a 6 × 17 inch panel. Anyone know if there is anything behind it? If not I was thinking about opening it up to make a spice rack. Doesn't appear that anything runs behind it. Just don't want to bust it out only to have to repair it if not usable.

wz3mo, it's empty space other than a few wires running along the floor. So, yes it could be utilized for extra storage. I am thinking of adding some Owens Corning rigid insulation inside along the back of this area and the existing cabinets on the other side of the refrig. Hopefully it will help cut down on the Alabama summer heat.
