What is your pin weight with that unit?
Are you still under the GVW of the truck?
A properly loaded 9,000 pound 5th wheel will require a minimum pin weight of (at the minimum of 15%) 1350 pounds to avoid control problems. (Typicaly truck front end "wallowing" like a boat in swells).

Rich,

As most anyone will tell you, dry weights mean nothing after it leaves the plant. In fact, it means nothing WHEN it leaves the plant because it does not include weights of options you add when it is built. The UVW (yellow sticker) has the actual Unladen vehicle weight with options installed and will be significantly different than the notional "Dry weight" in the brochure.

The best way to get the real pin load on your truck is to go to CAT (or equivelent) scale and weight the truck and camper loaded for camping (about 10 bucks) (get weights for each axle on the truck) and then drop the camper in the yard and reweigh the truck without the camper hooked up (again with weights on each axle) and subtract the two gross weights. That will give you an actual pin weight and gross weight on the ruck loaded and unloaded.

Hey RichNVinny got any more pics of your new 5th? the 305V RET is one we have on our list of considerations as its has a good GVWR and reasonable tank capacity for full timing.
U are obviously pretty stoked with your unit. They say the V Cross utilises more space - true?

I hear ya we got ours at end of May this year also, and have taken it out every weekend(sat-tues) since we picked it up. We live in charlotte and have been able to stay within 2 hours from home and hit a different city and RV park each long weekend. This is our first rv and we love it already thinking about full timing in a class A
