FR forgot to put a furnace vent in our Vibe
I posted this under general but wanted to make sure it was posted here too.
Our CO detector went off last fall and we brought it in. Couldn't find anything. This week we are getting the camper ready and it goes off again. The digital detector read CO.
Turns out there was no vent to the outside from the camper. Than goodness my son slept with his window open.
It's fixed now, but I wanted to make sure that everyone knew.
We have a Vibe 272bh

Sometimes rules need to be ignored. In this case the information could save a life if more than one Vibe went down the production line and didn't get an exhaust vent installed.

I'm new to the forum and I missed the rule! Sorry. When I saw this page, I thought that I should have posted here and realized people might not see it in the other thread. It was so dangerous and everyone was so quick to tell us it was probably a defective detector that I thought it would be important for people to see it. I won't do it again

As far as I'm concerned, you couldn't post this topic in enough forums or sub-forums.
Thank you,
Bruce

There are those that only read the section that applies to the trailer that they own. Others may read that and the General. Sure had for someone to miss this important post because of a simple rule.

Thanks for the post. The forum is a learning processes, you are by far not the first to break a rule by mistake.

First I report that to suburban ask for the GM. Suburban has a man at the plant that is supposed to check these things. I know cause I had to contact them in order to have R/A installed the living space of my #8289. FR claimed that they use the space in the basement for R/A. Suburban documentation says it has to pull from the living occupied space. Suburban contacted there rep at the plant and found this was true. They immediately recontacted me to have FR cut in R/A vents. You can report it to the NHTSA but also report it to suburban, It will happen a lot faster, THANK_YOU for letting people know sometimes FR and reps make mistakes, but yours could have been a deadly one.....

I am brand new and couldn't find my other post. Also, I didn't want anyone to miss what happened because no one really thought to look for that.
Sorry that I broke some rules! I will be more careful.

The site team is aware of both threads and as of now we feel it's an important enough issue to have it posted in multiple places.

When I read your alarm problems, I said you needed to have it corrected before any use, thinking that you had obstruction in exhaust vents.
Few would take offense to re-posting. Just glad you got it fixed on second try.
Your dealer and FR should use this as an opportunity to restore your confidence in the total safety of your recent purchase. Keep that second alarm in there anyway and it's a reminder to the rest of us to pay attention this summer.

Please relax with the Roberts Rules of Order!
I would place people's lives and safety above a housekeeping rule.
We just received a new unit and will be sure to check.
Thank you. I would never have found this thread normally.

Here's a little nugget instead of searching thru the forums try clicking on the "Portal" header then you will see what is happening in all the forums real time (I think) and not miss something you feel in important. threads that are not being commented on don't show up in the portal after X amount of entires you would still have to look at that specific forum.
Moderator correct me if I'm wrong please
