In what states you looking for - there could be some in california but you live in New York - doubt you are gonna drive that far for a good site - I know I wouldnt and I am in Florida.

Alot of nice state parks here in Florida - reserveamerica.com is a good place to start looking

When I was in Virginia I drove the Shenandoah valley - what an awesome place to see - another nice place to see if Laray Caverns - if I am not mistaken they have a camp ground there as well.

I am going to Virginia and PA this year but not sure if I am taking the trailer as of yet or not - gonna depend on if the price of gas drops or not

Couldn't agree more. The Shenandoah Valley is beautiful! There are a couple of other parks near and around Luray Caverns, and also a place we visited last year called, Endless Caverns.

There is also a new state park called Shenandoah River that just opened recently for camping. We drove through it last year just as it was being completed. Definitely worth checking out:
