Hard-wired surge protector in Vibe?

Has anyone mounted one in their Vibe? We just bought a 308BHS, and not clear on where it would go. Originally I was thinking the front compartment...but I guess it has to be in the general area of the fuse panel...is that correct?

Originally i was going to do a portable...but i see the advantage of the hard-wired. Anybody doing the Progressive 50amp EMS?

Also - taking delivery in 2 weeks on the Vibe (out of state), then we're camping right on the backside of that for a couple of weeks...so I won't have an opportunity to install this, I'm guessing until we get back. It'll be June, and hot, and I don't know how long I'd have the camper powered down trying to do this. Should I buy an interim cheap portable surge protector in the meantime? Just not sure how prevalent power issues are, and if I am really rolling the dice until I could properly install the hard-wired version, if thats the way I go?

I ended up getting the portable one...the EMS-PT50X 50A it's $380 on Amazon right now...I got it for $325 + $10 in shipping here. Universally everyone on Amazon had nothing but praise about it. I love it, and I know its coming with me if I go to a different camper. I just bought a small bike cable lock...but I'm not too worried about it. Good luck!
