Update Time--
After 18 months a cold front brought 35 mph winds which shredded the aging canopy cover. It had survived numerous such events previously. Internet sources sell just the replacement cover for $70. Not much more than a tarp that large, so I plan to replace the the cover and let it ride.
Shopping for alternatives I came up with approx. $1300 for a full metal carport.

what about 4x4's a roof frame and them wavy plastic panels on the roof? they come in all colors. This should not be more than $500.00 and some work ours.

Those wavy plastic panels are allergic to UV and will turn into little shreds of plastic all over the place after a few years. The galvanized steel 4x8 panels are not too expensive and will outlast your TT.

That was true with the older fiberglass corrugated panels.

The newer corrugated poly panels are designed to withstand exposure to direct sunlight and will outlast whatever structure you put them on.
