I installed mine. Bought it from Carefree of Colorado. A pretty simple two person install (mainly due to the length)!

If you are even slightly mechanically inclined, you can do it yourself much cheaper than the dealer. I found brackets on Ebay for the Dometic series for $39 and ordered the topper from AmericanRV. It should save you a couple hundred bucks or more.

Yep, added a slide topper after our first year of ownership.
So glad we did and will never have another RV without one.

Is this a "Trick Question"? I see most have answered about a "Slide Topper" but you are asking about a "Awning to the Slide",and Yes I have seen Awning on a Slide! They make more room under a Awning than a Awning OVER the Top of a Slide! Open Road units have those Useless Awning over there Slides! Youroo!!

What do you do if there is high winds? Will the awning hold up or do you have to put the slide in? Thought about getting one until I thought about wind problems.

Youroo my slider awning is tall enough for me at 6'4" to stand under. However, the support arms are KILLERS. We like to put a picnic table under ours and I have several knots on my head from running headlong into those arms.

Yep, plenty high enough to walk under.
If you drop the awning arms down, they are somewhat low but no more so than the old manual awnings.

Awning hold down poles & brackets from TURBS or OC solves that problem!
Have them for both the main awning and the slide awning but if the winds get too high, the awnings should be retracted anyway.

I had a slide topper added at the dealership when we bought our 315BHK a couple weeks ago. When I was at the Vibe factory yesterday, the service techs were commenting on how good it is to have a slide topper. Even noticed the dealer forgot something on the install and told me how to fix it!

To me, having it just makes sense. Keeps that slide roof clean.
