Topping off fresh water

Any suggestions for topping off the fresh water while camping at a park that is NOT full hookup? Sure do not want to have to haul the trailer down to fill up. We have a Vibe 308 BHS.

I have several six gallon for fw only containers that are easy to put in the back of the truck and go get extra water. I think you can buy them at wally world

We have some too, but this trailer, which is a 2016, has a vent over the water opening. Needs forced water to fill not gravity. The best I can describe, is like it needs a hose connected to it. Our previous unit used the jugs just fine. Thanks for the input.

Buy a spare water pump and mire it up with some alligator clips to power if from the tv and get a couple of short pieces of hose and use that from your portable water jugs to the trailer.. Allow it to dry before putting it away and keep it clean.. Ideally if you got one that is the same as your trailer, you'd have a back-up water pump in case the one in your trailer dies in years to come...

This may not be totally practical for you but works for me. On a previous TT, I replaced the sick-water-buffalo-sounding water pump with a variable-speed drive pump and so had an extra pump lying around. I configured it with hose ends and when I need water, I carry 5-gallon blue jugs from the hydrant, and pump it through a filter into the FW tank.

Sounds like your water fill may have an upward arch to it. Ours did, would not take a gravity fill. Just poured on ground.

Luckily, I was able to get to it and cut the "extra" hose off to get it angled down. Now no problems. We use the six gallon jugs now to fill when no hookups.

I use the winterizing port to suck water into the plumbing.. Then the outside shower hose (nozzle off) to pump it back into the tank through the fill port

I got one of this and cut the wand off, added more tubing. Hook up to battery and it pumps it right in 30 gallons at a time, if you need that much! Works great.

Yup.

Except I picked up an aqua tank 2.
60 gal bladder that folds up small.

I have the 60 gal. Was $134.

I use the factory pump that my trailer came with. Plugs into my trailer and bladder sits on the bed.

I replaced that pump with a remco.

Op is at a site that doesn't have a water hookup. Wants to fill his tank up, but not move off the site. Giving him ideas on how we've managed a work around this problem

My gravity fill is near the front of the trailer. The anitfreeze, city water and outdoor shower are on the rear. Yesterday I bought a male hose end fitting ($5) and 4' of 5/8" vinyl tubing ($4). I can set the 5 gallon jug on the ground or balance it on the rear bumper and dip the hose into the jug. One valve inside the trailer can change the pump intake from FW tank to antifreeze fitting. Haven't tested it yet but it should work.

I generally carry a 5 gallon collapsible jug to refill. However, when close enough to a common water faucet, I will use my hose with a water bandit (or water thief depending upon the brand) to connect to the thread-less faucets in many campgrounds for a quick fill.

I carry one of the standard 6 gallon blue water jugs for this very reason. I fill it at the campground faucet, then transfer the water directly into the fresh water fill using a small (1-1/2" wide by 5" long) 12dc submergible water pump that drops right into the jug. This pump, a Rule i200 sold on Amazon for 26 bucks, transfers water at a rate of 1 gallon in 20 seconds. The pump is a simple 2-wire connection and it's outlet port uses either 1/2" or 3/8" tubing you acquire and cut for your purpose. The best part is it transfers the water from the jug while it's on the ground, meaning no lifting. 2 trips equals 12 gallons of water...
