V-Cross 27VRL -- Owner Experience

Hello. Am new to the forum as we are considering the V-Cross 27VRL and am hoping to get some feedback from owners of this unit, or of another V-Cross.

We've been looking for something that is a decent size, yet can still be towed with our F-150. (Currently own a Jayflight 24 footer) Been looking at Jayco Whitehawks and Open Range Light models as well.

I stumbled upon this V-Cross model online and went to a local dealer to look though it today. I have to say, I was really impressed with the amount of storage, the huge bathroom, the bedroom wardrobe, etc. (That's something you don't see too often in a unit this length).

If anyone can provide me with some feedback, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

I've had mine about a year and it's ok. The issues we've had have been minor. The current production 2016's have 15" rims which you will want when it's time for new rubber. We only got the 13.5KBtu AC which you will want the 15K Btu AC. We got the dinette since we have a grandson that camps with us often. There is outside storage under one of the dinette seats which goes away if you get the table and chairs opt. Had extra fantastic fan in kitchen area installed. Opted for minimal carpet.
Other than that it's been personalization type touches. Me and Amazon are good buds!
BTW we traded up from JayFlight 24RKS...big difference! We've gone from camping to glamping.

If you get one, be absolutely sure it has the 15" wheels. My 2016 came with 14" wheels and the tires are overloaded. Apparently FR realized this and changed over to 15", which is stated as standard in the 3/2015 brochure. Mine was manufactured after that but still came in 14". I am unable to get FR to admit that they have under-rated tires on my unit despite overwhelming evidence and information I have sent them. $800 for new out of my pocket, thank you FR.

One thing to consider about the bath is if you have others camping with you they will be traveling through your bed room to use. I see this as a down side. These tt are similar to our V-lite. Make sure to get 15,000 BTU ac or better yet get the second one you may need it depending on how hot your summers get. We did the two.Later RJD

When we purchased our V-Lite we had 12 different problems. Most were minor although it took about 6 weeks to get fixed at the dealer. Communication problems between dealer and FR was frustrating. Everything was fixed to my satisfaction. Not a another problem in almost a year of owning. Mine came with 14" wheels. It tows very good with my F150, 5.0 and Equalizer hitch. Lots of internal storage. However, the outside storage is lacking.

As a former V-cross owner I will add my .02. We loved our unit (27VFK) only major issue and the main reason we traded was axle capacity. We ended up with one bent axle because they were not heavy enough for realistic camping, let alone carrying a full load of water. Good Luck
